Euro 2016 is just around the corner, so Football Ticket Pad has picked out five players who will be in contention to pick up the Golden Boot in France this summer when the tournament gets underway on Friday 10th June 2016.

France, Spain and Germany are all many people’s favourites to win the competition, with England, Belgium and Italy all outsiders to claim the Euro prize.

However, Portugal and Sweden have Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in their ranks. If they find form early on there is no reason as to why they can’t win the Golden Boot even if their nation's are eliminated at the Group Stage.

This summer there will be a plethora of attacking talent at Euro 2016 and you can be there with your France Euro 2016 tickets. Football Ticket Pad has football tickets for every single match at UEFA Euro 2016 so book your tickets today to avoid disappointment!

Football Ticket Pad’s five Euro 2016 Golden Boot contenders are as follows:

Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal):

The best player in the world cannot be written off even if his Portugal side fail to reach the knockout stages at France Euro 2016.

It is fair to say that without Ronaldo, Portugal will not carry much of a threat and without him, Portugal probably wouldn’t even be at the Euros! The 2016 Ballon D’or winner scored five goals in Euro 2016 qualifying and he will be the one expected to fire Portugal out of the group stage in France at the expense of Austria, Hungary and Iceland in Group F.

Ronaldo is in peak condition after recently firing Real Madrid to UEFA Champions League glory and there is little chance that Ronaldo will leave France Euro 2016 quietly with Portugal.

Thomas Muller (Germany):

The German has had an impressive season at Bayern Munich scoring 32 golas in 49 matches for the German champions. His record at International level isn’t too shabby either, with 32 goals in 71 caps. Muller is Germany’s first choice striker and with Northern Ireland, Poland and Ukraine joining them in Group C, Muller will be hoping to get off to a quick start.

The German’s look set to play a 4-2-3-1 system with Muller deployed as the main striker. Mesut Ozil, Julian Draxler and Toni Kroos in behind, chances should be plenty.

Antoine Griezmann (France):

The Atletico Madrid frontman will be hoping to fire the home nation to Euro glory after a stellar season at club level. Griezmann scored an impressive 32 goals in 54 matches for Atleti and he will lead the line for France with the likes of Olivier Giroud, Anthony Martial and Kingsley Coman in reserve.

France will be hoping for a long run at Euro 2016 so should be expected to ease through Group A which includes; Albania, Romania and Switzerland.

Griezmann will be looking to fill the void left by the absent Karim Benzema and weather he is playing as a main striker down the middle, or out wide, Griezmann is capable of scoring plenty of goals.

Harry Kane (England):

The Premier League Golden Boot winner will be hoping to claim his second top scorer accolade in as many months - after being selected by Roy Hodgson as the man to fire England to Euro 2016 contention.

Kane will be hoping to beat the previous England record set by Alan Shearer, who scored five goals at Euro 1996 as England were eliminated at the Semi-Final stage against Germany on penalties.  Kane will be hoping himself and England can go even further as he looks to add to his five goals in twelve England appearances.

Alvaro Morata (Spain):

Spain remain one of the favourites to win Euro 2016 and they will need someone else to take centre stage on the goal front. In previous tournaments, Spain have had Raul, David Villa and Fernando Torres to rely upon, but now it is time for a new era under Vicente Del Bosque.

It came as a surprise when Spain failed to select Diego Costa, Fernando Torres or Paco Alcacer in their Euro 2016 squad, so Del Bosque and his strikers will be hoping to reward their manager’s faith in them. Morata will lead the line and will be keen to add to his three goals in nine matches for Los Rojos.

Spain will be gunning for their third successive Euro title after being crowned champions at Euro 2008 and Euro 2012. Fernando Torres was the hero four years ago, claiming the Golden Boot in 2012 with his five goals.

Morata has a reputation for being a big game player who scores vital goals, this summer will ultimately test that resolve after being heavily linked with a big money move to England this summer from Juventus in Serie A.
