The transfer window is officially open, so which Premier League players need a change of scenery this month? The January window is an opportunity for clubs to strengthen their squads, but it is also a chance for players to leave for pastures new having gone stale at the current clubs.

The Premier League's riches are greater than ever before, and the money on offer so exorbitant, business looks set to soar this month with some big moves set to happen. Virgil Van Dijk completed a record £75 million move to Liverpool with Philippe Coutinho finally putting an end to his inevitable transfer saga with a whopping £142 million deal to join Barcelona. Meanwhile, Ross Barkley swapped the blue of Everton for the blue of Chelsea for a cut-price £15 million. In return, the Toffees added much needed firepower in attack with the signing of Turkey international Cenk Tosun for £27 million.

Rumours continue to rumble with the Premier League’s top clubs looking to strengthen ahead of the second half of the season. Speculation continues to grow around the futures of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil at Arsenal, both of whom enter the final six months of their lucrative contracts. In previous seasons the January transfer window has been something of a damp squib, but this season could show a change in fortune with plenty of players itching for a move on a temporary or permanent basis.

There is an awful lot at stake this month with players willing to put their futures on the line in a bid to guarantee regular playing time by moving clubs with the 2018 FIFA World Cup looming next summer. As a result, Football Ticket Pad has selected five players who could well be on the move this month as the demand for Premier League tickets continue to increase.

Daniel Sturridge: According to reports the Liverpool striker has told Jurgen Klopp he wants to move this month in order to play on a regular basis. The club have placed a £30 million price-tag on his head and would be open to the idea of selling the 28-year old. Sturridge has been blighted by injuries and has not featured for the Reds since November. He has only made five starts this term and struggled to adapt under Jurgen Klopp with Roberto Firmino, Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke all preferred attacking options.

His record is still impressive with 63 goals in 133 appearances, however his recent injury record may deter suitors. Sturridge is desperate to regain his place in the England squad ahead of the World Cup with both West Ham and Southampton linked. His £150,000 wages may also prove something of a stumbling block with a move abroad also on the cards with AC Milan interested.

Alexis Sanchez: The Chilien looks destined to leave The Gunners, however it is unclear whether he will leave now or wait till the summer when his contract expires. Manchester City appeared to be the favourites to secure his signature with a £20 million move, however Manchester United have entered the race as the two rivals go head-to-head for his services.

United are apparently willing to meet Arsenal’s £35 million asking price and will offer the winger a three-and-a-half-year deal worth £400,000, plus a £15 million signing-on fee with Henrikh Mkhitaryan rumoured to be heading in the opposite direction as part of any deal. Could fans with Arsenal tickets be about to lose their main man?

Theo Walcott: A January move appears imminent for the winger. At 28, he should be entering the peak of his career, but has found himself on the fringes of the Arsenal first-team despite scored 19 goals last term. Walcott has played just 48 minutes in the Premier League this season and will be keen to move on after 12 years at Arsenal. Everton appear to be favourites to sign the winger with his former club Southampton also mooted as a possible destination.

David Luiz: A popular figure at Stamford Bridge, but has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season under Antonio Conte. The Brazil international played a key role in Chelsea's Premier League title winning campaign, with Conte praising him as one of the best defenders in the world. This season, an apparent fall-out between the pair has changed the situation dramatically.

Luiz has lost his place in the team to Andreas Christensen and has not played a single minute in the Premier League since October. There will be plenty of clubs lining up to sign him with rumours of interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. Luiz appears to be nearing the end of his second spell at Stamford Bridge.

Michy Batshuayi: Another Chelsea player desperate for regular game time ahead of the 2018 World Cup. Batshuayi would not be short of potential suitors with a host of Premier League clubs willing to take a punt on the Belgian on loan. Batshuayi has been playing second fiddle for most of his Chelsea career so far and finds himself behind Alvaro Morata in the striker stakes. Newcastle United and West Ham United are keen with interest from abroad with Sevilla in the running.

The Blues are apparently in the market for another top striker to challenge Morata which will only push Batshuayi further down the pecking order. A suggested loan move appears to be the best option for both parties right now as the youngster bids to recapture his form and confidence which saw Chelsea splash £33 million on the Belgian two years ago from Marseille.
